JAZZSCHOOL YOUNG MUSICIANS PROGRAM AUDITION INFORMATION

Students interested in joining a performing ensemble should contact youngmusicians@jazzschool.org. Ensembles are formed during the fall quarter of each academic year. Placement auditions for mid-year enrollment will take place on December 21st 2011. Mid-year enrollment is subject to availability .

General Placement Audition Requirements
Students should plan on performing two skill-level appropriate jazz standards, improvise over a 12-bar blues (if the student is comfortable) or rhythm changes (for high school students only) and sight-read. To schedule an audition, please fill out an application online. After your application is received, you will be contacted within 1–2 weeks with an audition time. Auditions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and will be scheduled at the earliest available time. Auditions will not be scheduled on Sundays until the Saturday audition schedules have been completely filled. Students will be contacted with placement information.
