The Jazzschool's Young Musicians Program is a comprehensive music education and performance program designed for instrumental and vocal students between the ages of 11 and 18. The Young Musician Program is a key component of the Jazzschool community music school and has been at the center of its educational and artistic goals since the Jazzschool's inception in 1997. Its curriculum provides students the opportunity to work with professional jazz musicians and music educators, strengthening their performance skills, expanding their knowledge of jazz theory and improvisation, and learning more about the foundations of jazz and world music. Students participate in after school classes, master classes and nationally-known jazz artists, and are featured in public performances at the Jazzschool and in venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
