Jazzschool Institute Vocal Concert at the Freight & Salvage! ($10.50/12.50)
Join us for the Jazzschool Institute vocal department’s end-of-semester performances. Under the direction of Laurie Antonioli, vocal performance students learn a broad range of styles, from “great American songbook” standards to bebop and beyond, developing a repertoire of 100 songs over the eight-semester course. Tonight you'll hear the fruits of their studies, including improvisation, phrasing, close harmony, the development of a personal voice—and some great tunes!

Join two fantastic student groups from the Jazzschool Institute for an evening of end-of-semester performances! The Latin Jazz Ensemble (directed by John Santos and David Belove) and the Jazzschool Institute Latin Jazz Ensemble (directed by Marcos Silva) present the music of Miles Davis, Adolfo Guzmán, Chico Pinheiro, the ensemble directors, and more!

Jazzschool Institute Jazz Workshops at the Freight & Salvage! ($10.50/12.50)
Saxophonist and composer Michael Zilber directs the Advanced Jazz Workshop, a top student ensemble, featuring some of the finest up-and-coming players in the Bay Area, including Madison Bohrer on tenor sax, Christopher Sullivan on tenor sax, Henry Moser on guitar, Danny Mertens on piano and trumpet, Sturdy Adams on piano, Scott Thompson on bass, and Dillon Vado on drums.
The evening begins with a performance by the hard-swinging Jazz Repertoire Ensemble I, tackling classics of the repertoire. This ensemble, directed by saxophonist Dann Zinn, features Colin Di Grazia, sax; Christian Sullivan, piano; Lu Salcedo, guitar; Andrew Lion, bass; and Marshall Williams, drums.
