Keith Johnson currently serves as Director of the Jazzschool Young Musicians Program. A member of the Jazzschool faculty since 2006, he is the founder and director of the award-winning Jazzschool Studio Bands now entering their fourth season. In addition to his work at the Jazzschool, Keith is also Director of Jazz Activities at El Cerrito High School and is completing a Bachelor of Music degree on trumpet at San Jose State University under Dr. Edward C. Harris and Dr. Aaron Lington. Prior to his appointments at the Jazzschool and El Cerrito High School, Keith served as Director of Jazz Bands at Portola Middle School from 2003-2006. Under his astute leadership, the Portola jazz ensembles gained wide recognition and high accolades at jazz festivals throughout Northern California, Nevada and Canada. His efforts at Portola Middle School earned him the Satsuki Arts Festival Community Service Award in 2004 and public recognition by the West Contra Costa Unified School District School Board in 2006. Active as a clinician, Keith has taught at the San Jose Jazz Summer Camp, Jazzschool Summer Youth Program, and Hayward-La Honda Music Camp, served as an adjudicator at San Jose State University and Santa Cruz Jazz Festivals, and has guest conducted for the El Cerrito High School Concert Band and Portola Middle School Symphonic Band. Ellen Robinson (Voice)
In addition to her own jazz performance dates and recording projects, Ellen is currently the Director of the Anything Goes Choruses in San Francisco and Oakland: community choruses for men and women which she founded in 1980.
