Two rising native-Californian groups meet for one great night of music. First, the LA-based Signals, who count contemporaries EST, The Bad Plus, and Kneebody among their influences. Featuring Tony Sangiacomo, tenor saxophone; Bryan McAllister, piano, keyboards; Thomas Hodul, bass; Brijesh Pandya, drums.

Alto saxophonist John Palowich makes his fourth appearance at the Jazzschool, backed by long-time musical partner Jonathan Stein on bass for a slamming hour of standards and originals.

San Francisco-native Sam Reider is an award-winning jazz pianist and singer. In 2007, the San Francisco Chronicle wrote, “At 18, he [Reider] plays with the swinging fluidity of a seasoned pro.” Now in his third year at Columbia University in New York, Reider is making a name for himself on the national scene, performing alongside such artists as Miguel Zenon, Dave Douglas, David Grisman, John Handy, Bobby Watson, Terence Blanchard, and Eric Harland.
